BY THE NUMBERS: LOBOS VS WRANGLERS
LoboHistory.com takes a by-the-numbers look at Longview's game against the West Mesquite Wranglers on Thursday:

10: Wins for the Lobos this season as they cap their 12th 10-0 perfect regular season in program history, and fifth under head coach John King.

252: consecutive games by Longview without getting shut out, the longest streak in school history. Lobos last were shut out on November 7th, 2003.

94: yard punt return by Willie Nelson for a touchdown, the longest punt return by a Lobo in school history. Previous longest was a 93 yard return by Sam Lanier against Fort Worth Paschal back in 1977.

4: years since the last punt return for a touchdown by the Lobos. Jephaniah Lister was the last Lobo to return a punt for a score when he did so against Copperas Cove back in 2018, also the last time Longview scored 70 points in a game.

12: Lobos with a tackle for loss, the most in a single game this season.

7: games that Longview scored 70 points or more in program history. John King coached teams have scored 70 three times, in 2017, 2018 and now 2022, while the remaining four games also occured during Longview's historic 1927 season.

5: games in a row that Longview has had a player score three touchdowns or more. Alijah Johnson registered his first ever three touchdown night against the Wranglers.

40: touchdowns by Jalen Hale after a two touchdown night. He becomes the sixth Lobo in program history to register 40 or more touchdowns.

40: passing touchdowns by Jordan Allen after a two score night against West Mesquite. He is the third Lobo quarterback in program history to throw for 40 or more scores.

-14: rushing yards for West Mesquite on the night. It marks the third time in the last four games for a Lobo defense to hold an opponent to negative rushing yards on the night.

2: Second shutout of the season for the Lobo defense, after previously shutting out Tyler Legacy 69-0. It marked the 228th all-time shutout in program history.

77: points allowed by the Lobo defense through 10 games this season, the lowest amount allowed since 1980's defense allowed just 61 points.

16: seasons in a row that Longview has scored at least 400 points, the longest stretch in program history. Before the streak started, Longview has scored 400 or more points in a season just three times in its history.

402: point differential after the regular season, the largest point differential since the 1927 Lobos ended the regular season with a 424 point differential.

3: negative rushing games by the Lobo defense following their -14 output against the Wranglers, the most in recorded Lobo history (team statistics before 1940 have been extremely tough to track down overall).

2,811: receiving yards by Jalen Hale in his Lobo career after Friday's contest against West Mesquite, passing previous receiving yardage leader Kamden Perry.
